I’m your peer. As a 50-year old, non-binary queer, lifter, runner, dancer with chronic pain and complex ptsd, I have overcome much but only with the support of an incredible revolving team of family and friends, therapists, trainers, nurses, and other practitioners. I’m in the midst of my strength training journey and at this moment I am very hopeful and proud, feeling strong and resilient while only doing my squats, hinges, or bipedal movements at a low intensity with plenty of rest. My depression and anxiety are managed with nature-time, breath work, creativity, and connection with my inner-circle. Hard times are always afoot but they wane like the good times so I always want to have something to look forward to.
